Karachi: ‘200 million rupee man’ held
KARACHI: A man allegedly involved in looting over Rs200 million in five bank robberies was arrested on Sunday. Police said two TT pistols and a Kalashnikov were recovered from his possession. A Special Investigation Unit team raided a house near Kati Pahari and captured Mustufa Khattak. During interrogation, Khattak disclosed that he and his accomplices robbed more than Rs200 million in five bank heists. Separately, Rangers and police conducted a search operation near Kati Pahari, but faced fierce resistance from the residents of the area. Enraged residents pelted stones at the law enforcers and also torched a vehicle, forcing the latter to return without completing the operation.
Later, some protesters opened fire in the area and forcibly shut down shops. They also blocked roads including the North Nazimabad Road near the KDA.
