Bara: Banned outfit lashes, shaves 2 alleged robbers’ heads
BARA: The Lashkar-e-Islam (LI) militant group on Monday lashed and shaved the heads of two persons allegedly involved in robbing the houses of internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Shalobar area of Bara tehsil in Khyber Agency, it was learnt on Tuesday. Talking to this scribe, LI commander Muhammad Hussain said Zahir Shah and Majeed, aged 15 to 18, were picked up by the militants in Qaziabad area of Shalobar.“We recovered jewellery, clothes, boxes, cellphones and other valuables from them which they had stolen from the houses of the IDPs in Shalobar area of Bara,” he said. He added that the stolen things were later returned to the owners.
“Our council first decided to shoot the two robbers to make an example of them but later we reversed the decision keeping in view their young age,” Mohammad Hussain said. “We awarded them 20 lashes each and got their heads shaved,” he added.
