Islamabad: ‘Fraudster’ arrested
ISLAMABAD: Margalla Police have arrested a fraudster involved in deceiving several men and depriving them of their money on the pretext of getting jobs for them, a police spokesman said. Complainant Mureed Ahmed, resident of Sector G-8/2, lodged a complaint with Margalla Police Station saying that he met Muhammad Farooq, son of Muhammad Ayub, resident of Tehsil Jund, Mohallah Ludhki, Basal District Attock, one year ago who posed himself as an intelligence official and also showed him his departmental card.
The complainant said that he deprived him and his other relatives of heavy amount on the pretext of foreign visas and jobs in various government departments.
A police team conducted raid on the tip-off place and arrested Muhammad Farooq recovering nine passports and original educational documents of various people from his possession. The police also recovered a fake card of intelligence agency with his photo pasted on it.
Meanwhile, Assistant Sub–Inspector Ameer Sajjad from Bhara Kahu Police arrested one fraudster identified as Yaqub, who prepared fake documents of land and then tried to get the land transferred. Following the FIR No.183 registered on the complaint of Revenue Officer (Patwari) Muhammad Ibrahim, investigation is underway into the matter to arrest other persons involved in assisting the accused in preparation of fake documents.
In another incident, Assistant Commissioner Industrial area Imran Ali handed over three cheaters to the Margalla Police. They used to prepare fake affidavits on the name of various persons and mint money from them.
These persons have been identified as Waqar, Naveed, Nadeem and police is investigating from them. Efforts are also underway to arrest their other accomplices.
