Karachi: ‘Killer’ of 2 girls held
KARACHI: An alleged killer of two girls was arrested in Saeedabad area, while four robbers were arrested after an encounter in SITE area on Tuesday. According to SHO Saeedabad police station Tariq Islam, they received information that a suspect, who was involved in the killing of a girl on April 7, was hiding in a house near Mill Area. Consequently, he led a police party and nabbed the suspect identified as Akber along with a dagger.During initial interrogation, Akber confessed that he had slaughtered Jameela, 20, at her residence in Yousuf Goth. He revealed that he had mixed sleeping pills in ice cream and served it to all the family members and when all of them fainted he took out his dagger and stabbed Jameela to death.
He said that he had fallen in love with Jameela and wanted to marry her, but when she refused to become his wife he killed her. Akber further admitted that he had killed another girl Nazia two years back in his native town Shadadpur, following which he came to Karachi.
Meanwhile, the SITE-A police arrested four alleged robbers after a brief encounter and recovered looted valuables and four TT pistols from their possession. According to the police, four armed men barged into a garment factory in SITE-A area and after taking all the employees hostage at gunpoint they started collecting cash and mobile phones from them.
In the meantime, a watchmen deputed at a nearby factory informed the police, following which a mobile van rushed to the spot and challenged the fleeing bandits. Upon seeing the police, the armed men opened fire and an encounter ensued in which all the four suspects were nabbed.
They were identified as Akbar Ali, Rahmat Ali, Kaki Khan and Farmanullah. Police recovered four TT pistols, Rs 5,000 and eight mobile phones from their possession. The suspects confessed to committing robberies in a number of factories in different parts of the city.
