KARACHI: In an operation, Rangers and police recovered an individual from his captors and arrested 5 kidnappers and a target killer. Police sources also said that 2 dead bodies were also found from various parts of the city. According to the source, rangers conducted a target search operation in Liyari area and rescued a man named Sarfaraz who was kidnapped from Baldia town a day earlier.
KARACHI: A police officer and two constables were on Friday booked under the anti-terror law after they were allegedly caught by Jama Cloth Market traders demanding protection money, officials and business leaders said. According to the traders, they saw three plain-clothes policemen engaged in a heated argument with a fellow trader and when they inquired about the matter, the policemen alleged that the man they were speaking to was involved in the ‘Hawala’ (illegal money transfer) trade.

In a press release here on Friday, DPO Rana Ayaz Saleem said that police raided and arrested ringleader Muhammad Asif, Allah Rakha, Billu, Iftikhar and Pervez alias Paji. Police also recovered Rs 62,650, two pistols and a gun from them.

According to prosecution, accused Saeed with the compliance of Parveen Bibi had killed Parveen’s husband Hameed by throwing acid on him when he was sleeping in his house at Chak 333/JB a year ago. The court also awarded life term to Parveen in the same case.
KARACHI: A suspected gangster was killed and his four accomplices were arrested during ‘an hours-long shootout’ with police on Thursday in Dalmia where the law enforcers launched a ‘search operation’ after the Wednesday grenade attack on two police vans that had left a woman dead and a dozen others wounded, officials said. The officials claimed that the police killed Moosa Baloch alias Shaka during a shootout in the Hindu Para area of Dalmia, as they managed to enter the ‘crime-infested’ neighbourhood after the unsuccessful attempt the previous day.
SARGODHA: Six officers of the Khushab District Health Department including Director PMDG program and four Executive District Officers Health (EDOs) were caught by Anti–Corruption Establishment (ACE) on the charges of embezzlement of funds to the tune of Rs9 million, here the other day. The ACE took the action on the directions of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif. Sources in the Anti–Corruption Establishment told The Nation that Riaz Shaheen, a resident of Sandral District Khushab had filed an application, seeking a thorough investigation against the officials for embezzling funds. The ACE, after an enquiry, registered a case against the accused.
LAHORE: At least 16 criminals, including eight land grabbers, involved in multiple acts of felony were arrested by the Capital City Police on Thursday. According to details, Nawab Town Police nabbed eight members of a notorious group involved in different cases of land grabbing and booked them under Sections 448, 511, 147 and 148 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC). SP Saddar Division said that the arrested men had been identified as Noor Hassan, Ahmed Ali, Qamar Zaman, Muhammad Ahmed, Zafar Iqbal, Ghulam Rasool, Muhammad Arif and Muhammad Ramazan.
