Police arrest drug peddlers in Charsadda
CHARSADDA: The police arrested three criminals after an exchange of fire with an infamous gang of drug peddlers in Charsadda district on Friday, police officials said. The District Police Officer (DPO) Nisar Ali Marwat told a press conference that acting on a tip-off the police raided the house of ringleader of the drug pushers, Muhammad Hussain alias Taji. He said the outlaws opened fire on the police, triggering a two-hour gun battle. He added that the police managed to arrest Taji and his accomplices, Humayun and Sharif, in injured condition.
The police also recovered two kilograms of heroin and weapons from the possession of the criminals, the official said. He said the ringleader of the drug pushers, Muhammad Hussain alias Taji, resident of Shabara in Charsadda, was wanted to the police in a number of cases.
