Karachi: 2 security guards gunned down
KARACHI: Two security guards were killed while performing duties in separate incidents in the city on Monday. Gul Raza Khan, 65, a private–security guard, was shot dead, when two armed motorcyclists opened fire on him while he was at duty outside Nisar Shaheed Park situated in Defence Phase IV in the Gizri police limits. The body was shifted to the JPMC for a post–mortem. According to police, the guard was an employee of Sardar Security Company and was murdered over an old enmity.
Meanwhile, a thirty-five-year-old watchman, Sulman, died in the Sachal police jurisdiction.
Sulman was performing his duty at Olympia Heights when a suspicious couple tried to enter the building. The couple became involved in an altercation with the guard over his enquiry into their visit. One of the visitors lost his temper and shot the guard dead. They fled the scene after committing the crime. The body was shifted to the Abassi Shaheed Hospital for a post–mortem.
In another incident, a skeleton was found in a box in some bushes in Mangophir police remits.
Some passers-by spotted the box and informed the police. The police shifted the remains to the Civil Hospital for legal formalities. An MLO at the hospital said the skeleton belonged to a man killed at least a month back. The outlaws had also poured acid on the body to avoid identification.
