Karachi: Robbers kill bandit
KARACHI: Usually, it is the same old tale of cops and robbers, but in a strange twist of events, a suspected bandit was killed by another group of bandits for trespassing on their territory. According to the police, three armed men arrived at the Monday Bazaar of the Korangi Industrial area and asked shop owners to hand over cash and other valuables. While the robbery was taking place, another group of bandits on motorcycles arrived at the scene. The first group of robbers saw the second one arrive and immediately fled on their motorcycle.
The second group was in hot pursuit of their rivals when the bandits being chased ran out of petrol in their motorcycle.
The first group of robbers entered a bus in an effort to escape, but their rivals spotted this move and forced the vehicle to stop.
Two of the pursuers boarded the bus and pointed their weapons at one of the men, shooting him dead on the spot. The victims’ two accomplices, however, managed to escape.
The assailants managed to flee from the scene of the crime, leaving the bandit, in his mid-thirties, lying in a pool of blood.
A mobile unit of the Zaman Town police shifted the body to the JPMC.
At the hospital, the medico–legal officer said that the victim suffered three bullets to the face and skull. He added that the deceased appeared to be of Bengali origin.
