Islamabad: Gang of robbers busted
ISLAMABAD: The Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) of Islamabad Police has busted a gang of robbers and arrested 13 other outlaws, including a woman, besides recovering snatched mobile phones, looted cash, 5 kilograms of hashish, 1.070 kilograms of heroin, wine and weapons from their possession, a police spokesman said on Tuesday. The nabbed robbers were identified as Nawab Khan alias Nawabi, resident of City Town, Peshawar; and Shaukat Ali, son of Faqeer Khan, resident of Sharifabad No. 2, Peshawar. They confessed to committing several robberies with the help of their accomplices in the area in the jurisdiction of the Shahzad Town Police Station.
Police also recovered snatched cash and valuables from their possession.
Meanwhile, a female accused identified as Hassan Taj, wife of Imran, a resident of Peshawar, was arrested for having 5 kilograms of hashish during special checking at the motorway bus-stop in the area of Tarnol Police. As many as 12 men were arrested for their alleged involvement in burglaries in various sectors of the capital, drug–pushing and possessing illegal weapons.
The CIA Police also recovered hundreds of thousands of rupees, pistols and 1.070 kilograms of heroin from their possession.
Islamabad SSP Muhammad Yousuf Malik has appreciated the police performance and directed all police officials to intensify efforts against anti–social elements.
