Karachi: Corpse of woman found with head and legs missing
KARACHI: The body of a young woman, with the head and legs missing, was found stuffed inside a plastic bag in a garbage dump near the North Karachi Power House in Gulshan–e–Sheraz on Tuesday. A sanitation worker saw the bag and informed the Surjani Town police, who shifted the body to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for an autopsy. The medico–legal officer (MLO) at the ASH told The News that the woman appeared to be in her mid-20s and her hands were also cut into pieces.
On Monday, the Manghopir police had found the victim’s skull and the bones of her legs stuffed inside a box in a graveyard. Those remains were sent to the Civil Hospital Karachi for an autopsy. The MLO said the flesh on the head and the legs of the woman was dissolved using acid.
The police said the victim could have been kidnapped and after her assailants killed her, they cut her body into pieces and dumped them in separate parts of the city.
In similar cases in the city in the recent past, the headless body of a young woman, chopped into pieces, was found in gunny bags within the Jamshed Quarters police remits on April 9. On March 11, the remains of a 35–year–old woman were found in gunny bags in a garbage dump in the Soldier Bazaar police remit.
