Miranshah: Jirga resolves land dispute in NWA
MIRANSHAH: A local jirga on Wednesday managed to resolve a land dispute between two sub-tribes of Turikhel tribe over the possession of land on Sher Ratla dam on Mir Ali Road, ending the fear of a looming bloody clash between the warring clans. It was learnt that the jirga comprising Additional Political Agent Mir Ali, Muhammad Amin and other officials held successful negotiations with the elders of Shah Meri and Abakhel tribes and persuaded them to vacate bunkers on the hilltops.
The political authorities also took Rs10 million surety bonds from each side, who promised to remain peaceful. The locals said that 50 percent work on the Sher Ratla dam had already been completed while the remaining work would start soon.
