Islamabad: 13 arrested in guesthouse raids
ISLAMABAD: The capital police arrested 13 persons including three foreign women for their alleged involvement in immoral activities during raids at different guesthouses, a police spokesman said on Thursday. Margalla police team led by SHO Inspector Muhammad Hussain Lasi raided a guesthouse on Neelam Road, Sector G-9/4, and arrested seven persons including two women for their alleged involvement in immoral activities. Meanwhile, a Shalimar police team headed by Sub–Inspector Muhammad Shahbaz raided a guesthouse and nabbed six persons including a woman for their alleged involvement in immoral activities. Three nabbed women are foreigners who could not produce documents regarding their stay in country.
The Ramna police arrested a bootlegger after a recovery of four bottles of wine from him. Likewise, the Industrial Area police recovered nine bottles of wine from two bootleggers which led to their arrest. Similarly, the Nilor police intercepted person on suspicion and during his search recovered a 30–bore pistol.
Separate cases were registered against the arrestees and further investigations were in progress.
