Karachi: 2 brothers given life for drug trafficking
KARACHI: Two brothers were jailed for life in a drug possession case by an anti–narcotics court on Thursday. Judge Sana Ullah Ghouri also imposed a fine of Rs1 million each on drug traffickers Shafiq Ahmed and Abdullah and in case of default on the payment, they would undergo an additional five–year imprisonment. Acting on a tip-off, the anti–narcotics force arrested the two brothers in Ibrahim Haideri on July 17, 2011 and both men were caught in possession of 40 kilograms of hashish each. According to the prosecution, the drugs traffickers wanted to smuggle the drug consignment to another country.
