Karachi: Grenade attack
KARACHI: A hand grenade was lobbed at a fish shop situated in the Pak Colony police area late on Thursday night, in which five people were injured. SSP West Amir Farooqi said that some unidentified men on a motorcycle lobbed the grenade at the fish shop in Bara Board and fled. The explosion resulted in injuries to Rafeeq, his son, Noman, Anwer Mashi and Qamar as well as the owner of the shop, Hussain Baloch. The injured were taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where their condition is stated to be critical. Investigators said that some witnesses claimed that the suspects were two in number and were dressed in shirts and trousers, while others said the assailants wore shalwar kameezes.
Meanwhile, the PIB Colony police also recovered two hand grenades abandoned under the Lyari Expressway. The police took the hand grenades and sent them to the Bomb Disposal Squad.
