Khanewal: DSP’s body burnt after murder in farmhouse: Police arrest farm manager, brother on suspicion
KHANEWAL: A DSP was murdered in his farmhouse at Chak 133/16-L on Wednesday night. DSP Attique Butt came to his farmhouse for some work. When he did not return to his house in Sahiwal after some hours, his family started searching for him. They also contacted Khanewal police as the mobile phone of DSP Attique was switched off. Police with the help of villagers managed to recover the burnt body of DSP Attique Butt from the well of his farmhouse. Police have arrested two brothers Bahawal Sher, the farm manager, and Shamand Sher from the farmhouse on suspicion and started interrogating them.
According to police, Bahawal Sher and his brother were managing the farmhouse of the DSP. The DSP had some dispute with Bahawal Sher and his brother. The chief minister had suspended DSP Attique Butt on the charges of killing two brothers when he was posted in Pakpattan. The DSP was convicted and jailed for two years in the case. The DSP and Bahawal Sher met in the jail and they became friends. Later, the DSP made Bahawal Sher his farm manager. The killed DSP was reinstated on his post a week ago and was waiting for the posting. The DSP was laid to rest at a graveyard in Sahiwal. A large number of people attended his funeral prayers.
APP ADDS: DSP Attique Butt had a dispute with his servants Bahawal Sher and his brother as the latter had allegedly stolen fodder. To recover the loss, the DSP had sold their buffalo.
