Sialkot: Release of 5-year-old boy after ransom
SIALKOT: The police claimed to have arrested two people who kidnapped a five-year-old boy and later released him after receiving Rs 500,000 as ransom. Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, DPO Afzaal Ahmad Kausar said that Mubeen and Shaukat had kidnapped Abdul Rehman, son of Nazir Butt, from Pathananwali village when he was coming from school on May 24. He said that late the accused demanded Rs one million for the release of the boy on May 26.
He added that a police party led by SP Investigations Asad Sarfraz was constituted to trace the kidnappers. He said that the family paid Rs 500,000 as ransom on May 30 and the boy was found from Wazirabad Civil Hospital the next day. He said that the police traced the kidnappers through the mobile phone data, arrested them on June 6 and recovered ransom from them. He said that Mubeen was said to be a relative of Abdul Rehman and both the accused were residents of Kot Muhammad Hussain village in the Sambrial police limits.
