Karachi: ‘Target killer’ among two remanded
KARACHI: Judicial Magistrate (West) Afzal Roshan on Friday remanded two suspects, facing murder and illegal weapons charges, in police custody till June 15. Lyari gang war suspect Sajjad Ahmed Khatri was remanded in police custody till June 15 for his alleged involvement in the killing of a number of people, including sub inspector Muneer Ahmed during a shootout in Baghdadi. He was also facing charges of possessing illegal weapons and police encounter.
The investigation against the accused was being carried out by the CID Police and Special Investigation Unit (SIU) which claimed that Khatri was also involved in the killing of Kashif Butt, Adnan Kathiawarri, Asif Banana, Imran Kutchi and Salman Dada.
Meanwhile, the same court remanded one Mukaram Khan in police custody till June 15 for his alleged involvement in the killing of Rangers Inspector Khan last year. Police claimed that the suspect had confessed to killing the Rangers man on the instigation of his wife Naheed.
