3 power pylons blown up in Mastung
QUETTA: Electricity supply to parts of Balochistan was suspended after saboteurs blew up three power pylons in Dashat area of Mastung district late on Sunday night. A spokesman for the Quetta Electric Supply Company said 45 grid stations in 16 districts were affected. He said there was a shortage of about 800MW in the province. Levies Force sources said some people planted explosive material around a huge pylon of 220kv and two pylons of 132kv transmission lines in Killi Samalani area of Dashat and blew them up.
The Qesco spokesman said that supply to the district headquarters was restored by Monday morning with some alternative arrangements. However, other areas of the affected districts remained without power.
“Repair work on the destroyed power pylons will be started after security clearance,” the spokesman said.
