Karachi: Man shot dead over land dispute
KARACHI: A man in his late 30s was killed and two others suffered injuries in Sajjan Goth in Saeedabad on Monday. The victim was identified as Shah Mir. Ahad Ali and Khayyam sustained injuries in the same incident. The station house officer (SHO) of the Saeedabad police station, Chaudhry Irshad, said Mir, an estate agent and support of the PPP, had been asleep in his house when three to four men barged into his house, opened fire on him and two other people and fled.
As soon as the police were informed of the incident, a mobile van was dispatched to the crime scene from where the police moved the injured to the Civil Hospital. Mir died from his injuries. SHO Irshad said Mir had been shot twice. Police found empty shells of a TT pistol from the scene of the crime, which were sent to the Sindh Police Lab for a forensic test.
He added that according to their investigation Mir had a dispute over the possession of a plot, and that dispute could have been the motive behind the murder. The victim hailed from Jacobabad and was a supporter of the PPP.
