Karachi: ANF seizes drugs worth Rs1bn at Port Qasim
KARACHI: The Anti–Narcotics Force (ANF) on Wednesday seized over six tons of hashish and 100 kilograms of heroin from a container at Port Qasim. The drugs were being smuggled to Belgium. Police said they had arrested three men for attempting to smuggle the narcotics, valued at over Rs1,000 million in the international market.
ANF officials began a search of containers at the Port Qasim berth after receiving a tip-off about the shipment. During the search, they found the drugs packed inside a container filled with crates of bed sheets.
