Lahore: Abductee turns out to be abductor
LAHORE: Drop scene of an abduction of a student came when police traced him through his cell phone data. Mohammad Bashir, a resident of Karim Park Shafiqabad, informed Shafiqabad police that his son Aun Bashir, who had come from China on holidays, went missing upon which police registered a case on June 12, 2012. Later, Bashir informed the police that some unidentified callers had demanded Rs 10 lakhs for the safe release of his son.
DIG Operations constituted a team under the supervision of SP City Multan Khan which recovered the boy through his cell phone data from Defenec area on June 13, 2012.
The boy told the police that he had made mock calls to his parents and demanded ransom for his recovery. He further told that he along with his friend Kashif alias Kashi had staged a drama of his own abduction, as he had to pay the dues for the rented car.
DIG Operations has announced appreciation certificates and cash prizes for the police team.
