Lahore: Airhostess shot dead on marriage dispute
LAHORE: A 24–year–old airhostess of a private airline was gunned down at doorstep in Bhatti Colony of Liaquatabad on Thursday by a man whose marriage proposal was turned down by her parents. Liaquatabad police inquiries showed that Rabia Amjad and her maternal uncle, Ishaq, were shot at and wounded by suspect Raheel Awais who wanted to marry the girl. Rabia had also rejected his marriage proposal which apparently annoyed the suspect.
On Thursday, Rabia was returning home along with her uncle from the airport when Raheel opened fire on her killing her on the spot. The police have registered a case on the complaint of victim’s brother Shahbaz and arrested the accused, who worked in a telecom company.
