Khanewal: 2 criminal rings busted; 7 arrested
KHANEWAL: The police have smashed two criminal gangs and arrested seven members including the ringleaders. The police also recovered booty worth Rs1.5 million and weapons from their possession. Talking to the media, District Police officer (DPO) Dr Waqar Abbasi disclosed that these gangs were active in the area since few months.
He said that he constituted a team headed by Mian Channu DSP Sajjad Gujjar, with special task to capture the offenders as soon as possible. The DPO claimed that the police had busted two criminal gangs – Nasir Abbas alias Nasri gang and Riaz gang.
The arrested criminals were identified as ringleader of Nasri gang Nasir Abbas alias nasri, a resident of Sai Chawan Multan, his two accomplices Muhammad Shabbir alias Seri and wajid Ali alias Jani while Riaz gang ringleader Muhammad Riaz, son of Muhammad Sadiq, a resident of Sheikhupura, Abdul Rehman, son of M Ghulam Abbas s/o Muhammad Boota of Vehari and M Saleem, son of M Yousaf, a resident of Pakpattan.
Waqar Abbasi claimed that the police recovered booty worth Rs1.5 million including 3 buffaloes, 3 cows, 3 motorcycles, 5 cell phones, one carriage vehicle, weapons including riffle 222, 2 pump actions, 4 pistols 30 bore and bullets from their possession.
