Islamabad: ‘Outlaws’ arrested
ISLAMABAD: The capital police claimed to have arrested 24 outlaws including two gangs of robbers and recovered weapons, narcotics and a huge quantity of liquor from them. A spokesman for police said on Monday that police arrested eight persons during special checking and recovered 2.20 kg of hashish, five wine bottles, 225 liters of alcohol from their possession as they were transporting the consignment to Islamabad from Peshawar.
Likewise, on a tip off, DSP Shahzad Town Arshad Ali Khokhar raided the hideout of robbers which led to the arrest of nine robbers. The police also recovered weapons from their possession who confessed to have committed several robberies in different areas.
The Koral police arrested a bootlegger after a recovery of 20 bottles of wine from him. The Shalimar police nabbed another bootlegger after a recovery six bottles of wine bottles and 192 cans of beer from him. Meanwhile, two other bootleggers were arrested Kohsar police after a recovery of four cans of beer and two bottles of wine bottles from them.
The Bhara Kahu police arrested a drug peddler after recovery of 250 grams of hashish from him. Similarly, the Tarnol police arrested another drug peddler after a recovery of 1.1 kg of hashish and 200 gm of heroin from him. The police also arrested a man after recovery of a 30–bore pistol from him.
