Karachi: Target killer, involved in 19 murders, held
KARACHI: A suspect, allegedly involved in 19 cases of target killings, was apprehended from Quaidabad locality on Saturday. His arrest was disclosed during a press conference of Malir SP Zahid Hussain. He informed the media that the suspect namely Jhanzaib alias Fauji was arrested along with a weapon. He said the suspect was affiliated with the Mohajir Qaumi Movement–Haqiqi (MQM–H), adding that the suspect was involved in the target killings of political and religious workers especially the Muttahida Qaumi Movement workers at Shah Faisal Colony, Orangi Town, Mehmoodabad, Khokhrapar and Sherpao Colony.
Crime Branch Police claimed to have arrested a notorious gangster of Lyari gang war from Lee market and recovered a weapon. SSP Farooq Awan said the police party conducted raid on a tip off at Lee market and arrested Faisal alias Sagar and recovered a TT pistol from his possession.
He said the accused belong from Lyari gangster Taj Muhammad alias Taju group and he was arrested on pointation of Irfan Yamaha who had already arrested two days back. The officer said during the initial investigation he confessed his involvment in target killing and extortions. Further investigation is in process.
Separately, East Investigation Range and Gulistan Jauhar police claimed to arrested a target killer namely Shuja Hashmi from Jauhar Moor Gulistan Jauhar and recovered a Kalashnikov and TT pistol from his possession. Police official said that accused involved in more than 80 cases of target killing and was also arrested few years before but he
Released from jail on bail. Police official said that he had several cases registered in different police station and we gathered his criminal record and further investigation is in process.
However, Pirabad Police claimed to have arrested three extortionists from Qasba Colony and recovered weapons from their possession. Police official said that they arrested Kashif, Amjad Hussain and Mohammad Alam and recovered two repeaters, TT pistol and extortions slips from their possession. They said the accused were involved in several cases of extortion and further investigation is in process.
