Rawalpindi: Bid to smuggle heroin to Belgium foiled
RAWALPINDI: The Airport Security Force (ASF) on Friday arrested a passenger and recovered around half kilogram heroin of high quality, which he allegedly wanted to take to Belgium. According to the ASF sources, a passenger namely Azhar Dastagir son of Gul Dastagir, resident of Rawalpindi hid the heroin in his clothes with a plan to smuggle it to Belgium through a flight PK–7763 of the national flag carrier. During the routine search, the ASF caught the accused red–handed at the Benazir Bhutto International Airport and recovered the drug. The security forces handed over the accused to the Anti–Narcotics Force, which registered a case under the ANF act. Further investigation is underway.
