Toba Tek Singh: Attack on Fatyana’s house: Former PML-N minister among 1,224 booked
TOBA TEK SINGH: Kamalia City police on Saturday registered the third FIR against 1,224 people, including a former PML–N federal minister, for allegedly attempting to burn PML-Q MNA Riaz Fatyana alive at his house during power riots on June 19. According to complainant Muhammad Hasan Fatyana, a relative of Riaz, Fatyana’s house was attacked on June 19 under a conspiracy allegedly hatched on June 17 at the house of Chaudhry Asadur Rehman. Asad, former PML–N federal minister, is a brother of Justice (retired) Khalil Ramday of Supreme Court. Ex-district public safety commission chairman and late ex-West Pakistan Assembly member Rai Nasrullah Khan’s son Rai Ziaullah Khan is also among those who were booked.
The complainant said under the plan Mr Asad and Mr Ziaullah had incited the people to set on fire house of Riaz Fatyana. He added that the arson attack damaged seven cars, 17 motorcycles, a bedroom, TV set, furniture and other valuables.
However, he said, Fatyana managed to leave the place as he was in other portion of the house.
When contacted, a Kamalia city police official said no arrest was made regarding this FIR which also contained 24 nominated people.
Earlier, an FIR was registered on the complaint of DSP Akbar Niazi against 217 people for burning five police vehicles and other government property. The second case was registered against MNA Riaz Fatyana and his 12 guards on the complaint of Liaquat Ali, father of a 14–year–old boy.
