Lahore: Drug pusher gets death sentence
LAHORE: AN Anti Narcotics Court on Monday awarded death sentence to a drug trafficker namely Akber Ali. The court has also imposed a fine of Rs.500000 on the convict. However, the court has awarded an eight-year jail term to the co-accused namely Rana Mubasher along with an imposition of a fine of Rs. 100000. Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) arrested the above said convicts from the Lahore Airport and had seized seven kilograms of heroin from their possession.
Later, the ANF submitted a challan against them in 2009. On Monday, the court after hearing the final arguments of both parties convicted Akber and Mubasher. In case of default in the payment of the fine, the convicts will have to face further jail term.
