Lahore: GPO employee convicted of fraud
LAHORE: An accountability court on Monday awarded three years jail term to Rana Saeed, an employee of GPO, Okara, and accused of embezzlement in transactions of money orders. The court has also imposed a fine of Rs 179,000 on the convict. An investigation was authorised by NAB Punjab against the convict on complaints filed by management of GPO, Okara. It was revealed during investigation that accused Rana Saeed while posted as a money order clerk, Okara GPO, misappropriated Rs179,000 through bogus money orders receipts and miscellaneous head of account, including net cash.
