Lahore: Wife, son’s killer gets death
LAHORE: Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Ijaz Butt on Monday awarded death sentence on two counts to a convict, Liaquat Ali, who had killed his wife and son when they refused to give him money to purchase drugs. The judge also fined him Rs 4 00,000 and in case of non-payment of fine, the convict will undergo for further two years imprisonment. According to the case, Liaquat Ali used to demand money from his wife and son to buy drugs and, on refusal, he thrashes them.
In 2010, he murdered his wife Asia Bibi and son Waheed Ahmed with a sharp–edge weapon after they refused to give him money for drugs. Later, complainant Muhammad Ramzan, father of Asia, registered a case with Gulshan Ravi police against him. On Monday, the judge after hearing detailed arguments awarded death sentence on two counts after the prosecution established Liaquat Ali as guilty in double murder case.
