Bannu: 4 cops booked in murder case
BANNU: Following the directives of the Peshawar High Court’s (PHC) Bannu Circuit Bench, the police booked four police officials in the murder of a resident of Takhtikhel village, officials said on Thursday. After the court orders, Asal Jan reported to police that the police party comprising the then station house officer (SHO) Bakkakhel Police Station Rukhsar Khan, then SHO Cantonment Police Station Muhammad Ismail and Detective Foot Constable (DFC) Abrar Khan headed by the then Deputy Superintendent of Police Cantonment Azmat Ali launched crackdown against the outlaws in Takhtikhel village on December 3, 2011.
He alleged that the police opened fire on his family members and killed his brother, Zarwali Jan, on the spot while he along with his uncle, Mir Mehmood Khan and Rehman Gul sustained injuries.
It may be recalled here that the police had registered the complaint in daily dairy report and refused to lodge an FIR against the cops involved in the incident. The elders of Takhtikhel village filed a petition at the PHC Bannu Bench against the police.
