Ghalanai: Arms recovered
GHALANAI: The security forces recovered a cache of weapons in a search operation launched in the Kung area of Khawezai tehsil near the Afghan border on Friday. Officials said the security forces raided several suspected houses in the Kung area and recovered arms and ammunition, including 12 mortar rounds, 48 detonators and 50 fuses. The APA Baizai told Dawn on contact that no one had been arrested in the search operation as most people had already vacated their houses due to the operation.
The Kung area was considered a stronghold of militants in the region before the launch of the military operation there.
Meanwhile, a security official, who was killed after militants attacked a convoy of the security forces in Bara tehsil of Khyber Agency on Thursday, was laid to rest in a graveyard here on Friday.
The victim was identified as Badar Shah, resident of Pandiali tehsil of Mohmand Agency.
