Lahore: 3 gangs busted, 8 criminals nabbed
LAHORE: Saddar Police Division busted three notorious gangs and arrested eight members involved in multiple acts of crimes committed in different parts of the Punjab Capital. During preliminary interrogation, the arrested culprits have confessed to committing armed robberies, dacoities, rape, murder, drug peddling and other crimes in the past. Police investigators said that a desperate proclaimed offender Zahoor Ahmed of Jaranwala, Faisalabad, was arrested by the Johar Town Police while the culprit Muhammad Arif of Hujra Shah Muqeem, Okara, was nabbed by the Raiwind City Police.
Similarly, a proclaimed offender Muhammad Imran, a resident of Sultan Mahmood Road, was arrested by the Shalimar Police since he was demanded in a case (30/2003) registered under sections 353/506/186/148/149 against him in the Sabzazaar police area.
The Saddar Police said that on the tip-off they raided a hideout and rounded up two accused including Aziz–ul–Rehman and his wife Nasreen Bibi, residents of Manga Mandi. The police said that both the arrested people were involved in minting money from ignorant people by issuing them fake appointment letters. The police have booked them in four separate cases.
Meanwhile, SHO Sabzazaar also arrested three members of Rehman Dacoit Gang including Rehman Ali alias Ali Raza and his two accomplices Azam Ali Bilo and Rauf Sultan.
The SHO, however, confirmed that two members of the aforesaid gang have fled the crime scene but they would be rounded up soon. At least four cases (665, 392, 519 and 651) have been traced against them whereas three handguns, several bullets, cash prizes, gold ornaments and other stolen valuables have also been recovered from their possession.
