Speaking at a press conference at Khazana police station the rural circle DSP Sajjad Khan said the gang robbed on gunpoint a motorcyclist Faizullah of Khazana of Rs60,000, two cellphones and a pistol at northern by-pass on June16. Acting on a tip-off, the police raided several places and arrested Javaid of Qila Korona and Bakhshad and Jalal of Nasapa and recovered the looted things from them.

Meanwhile, the district administration, during a campaign against encroachers and profiteers, arrested 32 shopkeepers and owners of workshops in parts of Peshawar on Monday.
The action against encroachers was taken at City Circular Road where the people had blocked the main road and occupied the entire footpaths.
According to an official in many areas the shopkeepers had overstepped, occupied the roads and rented the areas to other people in sheer violation of the law, saying such illegal practices could not be tolerated.
Similarly, action against the vendors, milk sellers, butchers and nan bais was also taken in various parts of the city where 12 people were arrested for selling substandard food items on exorbitant rates.
