Lahore: Shan Khusro’s remand extended
LAHORE: Cantt Courts Judicial Magistrate Imran Yousaf on Monday extended three–day physical remand of Shan Khusro, son of former Lahore commissioner and sitting federal additional secretary Khusro Parvez Khan, to Burki police. On Monday, Burki police produced Shan Khusro, accused of murder of his class fellow, before the court and sought extension in his physical remand to carry out further investigation. Police took plea that they had to recover murder weapon and also to investigate intention of the murder. However, the judge has extended three-day physical remand of the accused, directing police to produce him again by July 5 along with investigation report till that date.
In the FIR registered by Fazal Elahi, father of deceased Hamza, with Burki police under Section 302 against Shan Khusro, Fazal Elahi said Hamza left home after he made a phone call to Shan. After that he received a phone call that his son had been gunned down in DHA phase VI.
While Shan had stated before the police that he had shot and killed Hamza accidentally.
He told police that he and Hamza had gone out on the night of June 2 to Defence for a drive and for firing in the air. He said that he had got an unlicensed gun from a personal contact in Farooqabad.
Shan told police that while he was trying to remove a bullet from the chamber of the gun, which he was holding in his lap, it went off and a bullet hit Hamza near his right ear. Hamza was driving the car and was on the phone at that time. Shan said that Hamza died instantly. Hamza’s body was found the next day in DHA Phase VI.
