Lahore: Bridge collapse: Builder sent to jail on judicial remand
LAHORE: A judicial magistrate on Tuesday sent Khalid Rauf, owner of the company that had constructed Harbanspura bridge, to jail on a 14–day judicial remand. North Cantonment police had registered a case against him after the bridge collapsed and a truck driver lost his life. It was alleged that the bridge collapsed due to substandard construction. The investigation officer told the court that physical custody of the accused was no more required and he should be sent to jail. At this, the court sent the accused on judicial remand.
