3 government officials fall prey to target killers in Quetta
QUETTA: Target killings continued unabated in the provincial capital as three more people, including a senior official of the local government, were shot dead in Kuchlak, in the outskirts of the provincial capital, on Wednesday. Police said that three officials of the local government were on their way from Kuchlak, some 25kms away from the provincial capital, to Quetta city when unidentified armed men attacked them with modern weapons. The attackers opened indiscriminate fire with lethal automatic weapons and injured all the three persons seriously.
The attack was so sudden and intense that the victims sucummed to their injuries even before they could be provided medical aid. The deceased included Assistant Director Local Khan, who sustained multiple bullets injuries, local government official Yasin Ali and driver Muhammad Saleem.
The attackers fled from the scene leaving behind the victims in a pool of blood. On being informed, officials of the police and Frontier Corps (FC) reached at the site. The police shifted the victims to Civil Hospital here.
A large number of people belonging to different shades of life reached in the hospital to inquire about the victims. Later, the bodies of the deceased were handed over to the heirs for last rites. Police, however, could not trace out the attackers.
