Karachi: 4 PAC gangsters held
KARACHI: The Anti–Extremism Cell (AEC) wing of the Crime Investigation Department (CID) on Wednesday arrested four gangsters of the banned People’s Aman Committee (PAC) who have allegedly been involved in several cases of target killing including the murder of a policeman. AEC personnel also recovered huge cache of arms, hand grenades and ammunitions from their possession. The men were arrested in a raid on a house near Gul Bai in Shershah early on Wednesday morning, Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) Mohammed Aslam Khan of the AEC told The News.
After a brief encounter, police arrested Faisal alias Moota alias Ladoo, Syed Younus alias Kalu, Abdul Hameed and Arsalan. Their accomplices managed to flee under cover of fire.
During a search of their hideout, police discovered five Kalashnikovs, four TT pistols, five hand grenades and hundreds of bullets. The accused were moved to the investigation unit for questioning.
During questioning, the detained men allegedly confessed having kidnapped, tortured and killed a man named Asif, brother of MQM’s Lyari Sector Incharge, and two men, one of them a political activist named Danish.
Faisal also allegedly confessed to having targeted Police Constable Raj of City Division, South Range in Kalri police remits in February. The accused was also earlier arrested by the police in 2010 by the CID Investigation, but was released on bail last year.
