Lahore: Drug-peddler nabbed in City
LAHORE: A notorious drug–peddler was arrested on Monday by Sabzazar police and narcotics were recovered from his possession. Police said the culprit named Muhammad Rafiq alias Feica, of Multan Road, was leading a mafia involved in drug–peddling in different areas of the City. According to the preliminary interrogation, he has confessed to peddling drugs, including charas, in different parts of the provincial capital. Saddar Division SP has awarded commendatory certificates and cash prizes to the raiding police team.
Meanwhile, City Traffic Police Lahore (CTPL) spokesman said on Monday that the force issued 6,723 driving licenses to the motorists, including 411 to women, during the month of June. He said 588 candidates failed the driving test, while 25,318 learner permits were issued to the desirous candidates.
Similarly, the spokesman said, the CTPL issued 350 duplicate and 3,150 renewal licenses during June. He added that special mobile vans of the CTPL were issuing door-to-door learner permits to facilitate the citizens.
