Faisalabad: Kidnap of HR Committee secretary; SHO among 13 cops booked on court orders
FAISALABAD: On the court orders, the D-Type Colony police have registered a case against Sheikhupura Factory Area SHO Younis Dogar and 12 policemen on the charge of kidnapping Human Rights Committee secretary general Mian Muhammad Farooq and later releasing him after receiving Rs 60,000 as bribe. Mian Farooq, in an application to Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Afzal Faheem, stated that the a police party headed by SHO Younis Dogar had raided his house on February 7, taken him to the police station and asked him to produce his son in the police station.
He alleged that the police officials threatened him with fire consequences if he did not pay Rs 60,000 to the police. He alleged that the he was released after paying Rs 60,000 as bribe. In another case, the police have registered a case against Sadr SHO Ghulam Farid for not appearing in court despite receiving summons repeatedly. The petition was filed by Tahir Javed.
