Islamabad: Bank dacoity attempt foiled
ISLAMABAD: National Highways & Motorway Police has foiled an attempt of bank dacoity in private bank branch Kisowal at Mian Channu on GT road and arrested two dacoits with ammunition. Rs. 136,600/- along with car which used in dacoity was also recovered during the action. According to a press release issued on Friday a citizen Amin Akhtar Awan informed Motorway Police through NH&MP Help Line (130) that four armed dacoits have made a bank dacoity and fled away by taking the advantage of firing toward GT road.
He requested the NH&MP for help to stop the said car. On receiving this information Motorway Police got alerted all its patrolling vehicles. After few minutes the NH&MP officers SPO Noor Ahmed and SPO Aakif Nishat Faiz signaled to stop the said car on GT road but the dacoits started firing on NH&M officers who also called for the commando squad for help.
The NH&MP officers also responded and the firing remained for some time and some bullets were also damaged the official vehicle of NH&MP but the officers of motorway police by through commando action and arrested two dacoits Jalil Ahmed s/o Abdul Hameed and Faisal s/o Akrm r/o Islamabad and recovered Rs.136,600/- but other dacoits fled away by taking the advantage of firing on NH&MP officers.
The NH&MP officers arrested the two dacoits, took the car, ammunition and recovered currency into their custody and informed the local police. Later on arrested dacoits & recovered money, ammunition and car were handed over to the local police of Mian Channu in the presence of bank’s officials for further investigation.
