10 shot dead in Karachi violence in last 24 hours
KARACHI: At least ten people, including a political activist, woman and a child, were shot dead in ongoing wave of violence in the city in last 24 hours, SAMAA reported Thursday. Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Unit 121 activist Wasim Rehman and his three–year–old child were severly injured in unidentified gunmen’s firing. They were taken to a hospital but they succumbed to their injuries. Two people were gunned down in Nazimabad. They were identified as Fazal Karim and Islam alias Malang.
Abu Sadiq was killed in a firing incident near Mauripur Road. A rickshaw driver was shot dead near Baloch Colony Bridge.
A25–year–old young man, Abdul Rahim was gunned down in Faqir Colony, Orangi Town. Police sources said that the incident was a result of personal enmity.
A woman, Salma Akbar was also killed in the Kalakot, Lyari. Reports said that she was pregnant.
A policeman was killed in gunfire attack by dacoits in the city area of Malir early this morning.
According to police sources, they received a report regarding the presence of dacoits in a house located in Gharibabad area of Malir.
Asghar Khan was shot dead as unknown gunmen started firing on a vehicle of a chemical company at Korangi Industrial Area.
