Islamabad: Dacoity attempts foiled
ISLAMABAD: National Highways & Motorway Police has foiled two attempts of dacoities on National Highway (GT Road) near Patoki and Kramabad by prompt action. As per details, a bus of Asghar Dogar company bearing No. MLS–5286, which was going from Vahari to Lahore carrying 40 passengers. When the bus reached near Patoki, 05 armed dacoits stopped the bus on gunpoint with firing in the air and forcibly boarded in the bus for dacoitie and ordered to move the bus on the link road. The NH&MP patrolling officers PO Mumtaz Saeed and PO Abdul Khaliq immediately rushed to the spot after hearing the voice of firing.
They observed the bus moving toward linked road. They chased them and when the dacoits observed the vehicle of NH&MP, they started firing on the NH&MP vehicle, for which the officers also responded. In the meantime, the commando squad of NH&MP also reached on the spot. The gunman of the bus Baba Hasoo who by seeing the officers of NH&MP bravely responded the dacoits and in response he received bullets and become severely injured. During exchange of firing between NH&MP and dacoits, PO Mumtaz Saeed received a bullet in his shoulder and become injured.
Both the injured were immediately shifted to Patoki hospital, where Baba Hasso expired due to sever injuries. During exchange of firing and darkness of night, the dacoits succeeded to escape from the scene of incidence. The local police was also informed which was in search of these dacoits. In the second incident, a Wariach Coach bearing No. P-1313, which was going from Karachi to Sadiqabad carrying 47 passengers.
