Karachi: 2-year-old recovered with bite-marks on face, neck
KARACHI: A two–year–old boy who was kidnapped on Thursday morning was found after a frantic three-hour search in his neighbour’s captivity and with bite marks on his arms, neck and face, police officials told The News. Police found the captor, Feroze, with the child cradled in his arms at the Malakand Graveyard. Feroze had reportedly picked up the boy, Sudes, at about 9:30am from outside a dispensary in Pathan Colony where his mother was buying medicines.
Despite the eerie circumstances in which the Sudes was found, the boy will not be sent for further medical examinations to confirm if he had been sexually assaulted.
“The boy looks fine to us apart from the bite marks,” said Station House Officer (SHO) Rao Rafiq of Site police station – not realising that he was making claims that are usually the medical examiner’s job.
According to Rafiq, Feroze had kidnapped the child with the intention of selling him off for Rs50, 000 to fund his drug habits.
But the boy’s father, Arif Gul, didn’t seem convinced by the police’s explanation. “This is the third time this man has kidnapped my son. I’m just a factory worker, it’s not like he could possibly get that kind of money from me,” he said. Gul’s wife was also adamant that Feroze had kidnapped their child to sexually assault him.
