Attock: Alleged car lifter held
ATTOCK: The leader of a car lifters’ gang has been arrested by the city police. Waris Khan of Jamrud was held at Takbeer Colony on July 10 and police also claimed to have recovered 1,015 grams of hashish from his possession. During interrogation, it emerged that the accused had allegedly lifted seven vehicles from various areas of Attock city – three cars, two pickups and two vans – during the last three months.
The accused confessed that they had sold out all the vehicles in Peshawar and Charsadda against Rs50,000 to Rs60,000 each. He also disclosed that he and his seven other gang members had been arrested some four years back in car lifting cases and later released from the jail after completing their 15 months imprisonment.
