Rawalpindi: Gangsters loot judge’s wife
RAWALPINDI: Continuing their looting spree, gangsters hit the wife of a civil judge and a post office taking away gold ornaments and cash on Saturday, police said. Wife of Civil Judge, Rawalpindi, Ch. Ismaeel Tabassam Akhtar, was busy in shopping in a market in Noor Ilahi Colony falling in the jurisdiction of the Airport Police Station when two gunmen riding a bike intercepted her and snatched gold ornaments including a locket and chain after holding her at gunpoint in the broad daylight and sped away.
In another incident, four dacoits equipped with guns, entered into the post office in Dhoke Chaudharian, located in the jurisdiction of the Race Course Police Station and looted Rs135,000 cash after holding Post Master Maqsood Ahmad and other staff and left the post office after confining them in a room.
The police have registered the case but failed to arrest any of the gangsters.
