Bara: Militants release FC soldier after getting ransom
BARA: A soldier of the Frontier Corps was released by militants after payment of Rs0.4 million as ransom in Tirah valley of Khyber Agency, tribal sources said on Tuesday. The sources said Salim Khan belonging to Kukikhel Afridi tribe and a sepoy in the Khyber Rifle, a wing of the FC, had been abducted by the militants in Sandana area in Tirah valley some two months back. Salim Khan was heading to Sekhkot to shift his family from there to Jamrud tehsil as parts of the valley populated by his tribe had been taken over by the outlawed Tehrik–e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
After tireless efforts by a tribal jirga, the militants freed the soldier on Sunday after receiving Rs0.4 million as ransom. Talking to this scribe, a close relative of Salim Khan confirmed the development and said the soldier had returned home on Monday.
