Karachi: Suspects sent to jail
KARACHI: A judicial magistrate on Tuesday remanded five suspects in jail custody till July 20 in a case pertaining to Nato containers robbery and attack on a police party. Syed Alam alias Mulla, Gul Badshah, Sher Ali, Rashid Ali and Abdullah alias Master along with their absconding associates were booked for allegedly plundering some containers carrying supplies for Nato forces, stationed in Afghanistan, on July 11. It was claimed that a CID police party cashed and arrested the suspects after an encounter with them.
The magistrate sent the suspects to prison on judicial remand and directed the investigating officer to submit the charge-sheets on the next hearing.
The CID police also said to have seized stolen articles and unlicensed weapons from them and booked them in a number of cases under Sections 395 (punishment for dacoity), 353 (criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty), 324 (attempt to commit murder) and 34 (common intention) of PPC and Section 13-D of the Arms Ordinance.
