CIA Chakwal police gang-rape case
CHAKWAL: Additional District and Sessions Judge Raja Pervaiz Akhtar on Thursday issued non–bailable arrest warrants for Human Rights Commission of Pakistan former chairman Kamran Rizvi and former magistrate Dr Mobeen Aslam and ordered police to produce them before the court on July 25. He issued the orders while hearing the CIA Chakwal police gang–rape case. Tanzeem Shehrian Chakwal president Khawaja Babar Saleem recorded his statement in the court and contended that Nasreen Akhtar, the mother of victim Rozina Shaheen, filed an application before him, alleging that police illegally arrested her and her daughter on May 30, 1995.
Next day, police released her while her daughter Rozina Shaheen remained in the illegal custody and ASI Mukhtar Ahmad, Hussnain Mehdi and others allegedly gang–raped her for 10 days. Babar Saleem said that the then prime minister Benazir Bhutto directed the then HRCP chairman Kamran Rizvi to visit Chakwal and provide justice to the victim. He said that a judicial inquiry was also conducted by the then magistrate Mobeen Akhtar.
