Lahore: AG Office union chief shot dead
LAHORE: The president of the AG’s Office employees union was shot dead in the limits of the Islampura Police Station on Thursday. The deceased, identified as Mohammad Bukhsh Elahi, was also the vice-chairman of the All Pakistan Clerks Association (APCA). He was traveling on the Outfall Road when some unidentified bike riders approached him and opened fire on him. He was seriously injured and rushed to hospital where he was pronounced dead. The victim’s son, Awais, alleged that his father had been murdered by Aslam Gujjar, accountant at the AG’s Office, and Kamran, assistant account, with the abetment of two unidentified accomplices. Islampura police have registered a case and sent the body to morgue for autopsy. After the incident, the employees of AG’s Office staged a demonstration against the killing and demanded immediate arrest of those involved in the murder. The angry mob blocked the traffic and chanted slogans against police.
